London Marathon 2018 live updates: Weather news, road closures and all the latest news about the race
London Marathon runners will be pounding the streets of the capital today in the gruelling 26.2 mile race.
The mass race is due to kick off at 10 am and temperatures are predicted to reach up to 23C – which could make it the hottest London Marathon on record.
Runners face uncomfortable conditions, but the sunshine and warm weather could lead to one of the biggest crowds ever turning out to cheer on the 47,000 runners.
Police have warned armed officers will be deployed and vehicle barriers installed in tight security for the event. A planned DLR strike which threatened chaos for competitors and runners has been called off.
